Not only comment moderation. I should have added, in response to the article: LVT is not a tax on wealth or assets. It is recovery of the public value in land that is not the title holder's in the first place. Private land title is and always was a publicly controlled non-absolute allocation of rights - the Crown and hence the public are the ultimate owner. As such those title rights comprise a portion naturally and rightfully the property of the owner and a public portion (eg LVT) which might be levied on the title holder in return for the enjoyment of public values (the wealth of society). The article - I will put the link here again since I cannot comment on it directly)http://www.conservativehome.com/the-deep-end/2012/12/the-land-tax-is-a-bad-solution-to-a-genuine-problem.html - conflates personal wealth and land title absolutely, and argues that someone whose land inherently holds public value and who cannot or will not recover it economically is somehow at a loss. They are not, the value is there, they can use it or waste it, or sell the place and get it back.

PT, yes, exactly.

Private land ownership is legalised theft; taxation is legalised theft. Make the punishment fit the crime!
