Outbreak of commonsense ...

... at Sneinton Boulevard Post Office.

Guess the religion of the one guy who's moaning about this.

So presumably Mr Mohammed Ahmed expects every post office to have people who speak every language under the sun?

Why does it tak someone like Mr Kumarasiri to point out the bleeing obvious? Why aren't the CRE or whtever they have morphed in to nowaf=days saying it?

Once can but echo the sentiments of JuliaM!

And it takes someone who was originally an immigrant and has integrated fully to voice what most of us have been thinking and saying.

When are the tought police due to call?

Exactly. What's surprising is that this is surprising. I lived in Germany for nine years and I spoke German, did exams in German & did a driving licence in German.

@ GS, I think Mr Ahmed would like us all to speak Arabic or Urdu. And women to wear burkhas etc.

As an ex Snienton resident, still present Nottingham lad, is is indeed telling, with a little local knowledge, to see how you have all fallen for the dog whistle.

Woof woof.

Goodbye.

"This is a multicultural society and this is not right really. If they come here to work, it's their right to stay here even if they speak their own language. "

Actually, I don't have a problem with this, if one thing comes with it - you don't get any help from the state. No benefits, no translators.

A Japanese restaurant wants to bring you over because you're a top class sushi chef, and you've got a bilingual wife, or maybe you only hang around with other Japanese people who'll do the translation for you while you pick up the language, no problem. Or maybe there are shops who are willing to provide a service to Japanese speakers (the M&S in Bath has foreign speaking staff for the tourists).
