That was one of the nuttiest articles every written, it was in the Guardian. A fantastic example of the contortions liberals will go into where race is concerned to avoid the completely f*cking obvious.

I worked in Africa. There was an urban myth going around that if you had sex with a virgin it would cure your Aids. Unfortunately when it failed the man took the view that the girl must have been lying about her virtue and they looked for someone younger. Girls younger than 5 are being raped by such men.

Jesus wept. What absolute cockwaffle. I used to visit a mine hostel in the Free State (my best mate from school was the hostel manager), and a nicer bunch of blokes you couldn't wish to share a bucket of sorghum beer with. Always laughing and joking, always sent money home (wherever home was). Sure there was the odd fight - sorghum beer is better than Stella in some respects - and most of the blokes had wives outside the compound. Not their real wives, but local women who were willing for a few Rands.
This legacy of aprtheid nonsense is the same sort of crap perpetuated by the followers of the World's Most Famous Terrorist who can't/won't take responsibility for their actions in fomenting violence and hatred in the townships - not necessarily against the Afrikaner, but amongst each other. The ANC were nought but a bunch of thugs hell bent of seizing power and staying in power.
Our office receptionist was absolutely petrified of sending her daughter to school every day because there were always rumours going around that the umKhonto we Sizwe were coming to the school - which usually meant the Tsotses would tag along behind and pick out three or four young (and I do mean young) girls to be raped. In the end, we helped Florence get her daughter into a convent school in one of the Jo'burg suburbs.
It's all very well the Grauniad pontificating - you had to have lived through it to understand the reality of the situation.
