I can't be bothered drawing him again, so I'll just repost this one, seeing as of how he just hit the headlines...

What is it with Liberals and benderishness? Remember the Thorpe scandals? They only seem to feel alive while appearing in public life with some private secret.Charles Kennedy ploughed on giving keynote speeches while concealing a serious drink problem
(Good luck to him on that one actually;people would be more forgiving of that than the Liberal
establishment)

I think your tags say it all.

DBC, what is it with Lib Dems and covering up for benderishness (Thorpe, Oaten, Hughes)? Nobody minds any more. Laws' actual crime was getting the taxpayer to pay rent to his partner. The fact that his partner is male rather than female is irrelevant AFAIAA.

The Oaten case was most peculiar. He
admitted he'd consorted with a rent boy then said he had n't had sex with him .You what??!!!
I don't think Liberals would want to be seen as synonymous both with benderishness and the iron discipline of the markets, closely allied though these may be psychologically.

DBC Reed: Yeah, but there were 'other activities' that he got up to. This isn't appropriate for a 'family' blog. Look it up if you're interested.

I'm not really interested if Laws is a wooly woofter - it's the corruption side of things that's important. That said, I think he looked like a sensible bloke. For a Lib Dem anyway.
